Prepaid credit cards work in a similar way to pay as you go mobile phones – credit is loaded onto the card from another source, and then the balance can be used to buy other goods until the credit loaded has been used up. These cards are similar in appearance to a regular debit or credit cards, and will come with a pin and a signature box (for use in places with no `chip and pin` facility. The credit is generally loaded on via a bank account, Post Office, or a Pay Point unit.
